Happy Mother’s Day

“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.”

-Erma Bombeck

I have always admired the writing and humor of Erma Bombeck. She had a hilarious way of taking the monotony of everyday life and turning it into something we can all laugh at. In the middle of that humor, she could throw a poignant gem like the quote above your way.

She really hit the nail on the head with this one. A mom will give up her share of the pie when there is not enough to go around, give you her time when she really doesn’t have any to spare, and entertain you even when she doesn’t have the energy to do so.

To the mom of our home/the mom of our blog, Lori, and to all the mothers out there, stand up and take a bow! You are the glue that holds the house together, and that is no small feat! I hope you all have a great day and that you are treated well by your families.

On a final note, here is another quote from Erma on the more humorous side. I know this one will resonate with Lori, and I have no doubt it wil be the same for almost every mom out there!

“The easiest way to make a mother feel like a failure is to give her a child who actually listens the first time. She won’t know what to do with the extra three hours of her day.”

-Erma Bombeck

  1. Thank you honey! Yes, the 2nd quote is spot on! I wouldnt know what to do with all of that free time. On another note, is that our tree in the picture?
